Goa now has two airports serving visitors, and which one you land at can shape your entire trip depending on where you're staying.
Dabolim Airport (Goa International Airport)
Located near Vasco da Gama in South Goa, Dabolim is the older, more established airport and sits closer to South Goa's beaches and Panjim. It's a shared civilian-naval facility, which occasionally affects flight schedules.
Manohar International Airport (Mopa)
Opened more recently in North Goa, Mopa serves the northern beach belt — Calangute, Baga, Anjuna — more directly, cutting down significantly on transfer time if that's where you're headed.
Choosing Based on Where You're Staying
- Staying in North Goa (Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Vagator): Mopa is usually the shorter transfer
- Staying in South Goa (Colva, Palolem, Benaulim) or Panjim: Dabolim is typically closer
- Check your flight options for both airports before booking — pricing and routes vary by season
Picking Up Your Rental
Self-drive pickup can be arranged at either airport with advance notice, letting you skip the taxi counter and head straight to your accommodation.
💡 Booking your self-drive vehicle before you land means you can walk straight from arrivals to your car, without haggling over a prepaid taxi fare.
